e-dmc.com Helps Balance Economic Stimulus Efforts and Consumption Responsibility within the Meeting Planning Industry

Coto de Caza, CA – February 2009 - e-destinACCESS, Inc. (E-DA), an Orange County, Calif.-based company launches e-dmc.com in the first half of 2009, a fee-free web-based DMC service offered to meeting and event planners, to help reconcile the struggle between rejuvenating the economy and quell the vilification of meetings which puts at risk potentially 2.4 million jobs.

e-dmc’s patent pending technology will directly connect planners and suppliers, thereby removing middle-men costs. According to E-DA, this technology can save meeting planners as much as 50% of their budget and as much as 75% of their manpower hours.

Incentive trips, meetings and events account for 15% of all travel spending, which creates 2.4 million jobs, $240 billion in spending and $39 billion in tax revenue, according to the U.S. Travel Association.
“These numbers are significant,” reads a statement from Wayne W. Beaubien, Chief Software Architect and CEO of E-DA. “It is evident that the meeting industry is a major contributor to our economy, however, in times like this, it is important to help keep the economy alive but be responsible and prevent abuse by offering the tools necessary to do so. The potential loss of 2.4 million jobs would be catastrophic to the US economy. That is the significance of e-dmc, to help the meeting industry be financially responsible”.

Beaubien also agrees with USTA’s Geoff Freeman’s statement, "The fight is not with meetings, events and travel," he says. "The problem is with irresponsibility.”

“We can have both a healthy rejuvenation of the economy and still be responsible about it,” says Beaubien. “It does not have to be an either or situation. We (E-DA) firmly believe that by introducing our free service, e-dmc, can be a great tool within the meeting planning business to help rejuvenate the economy and cut excess spending.”
